Sheriff Mike Ammend
Sheriff Ammend started his career in Law Enforcement in 1981. In 1987 he was hired as the Jail Administrator for the Isanti County Sheriff's Office. In 1988 he was promoted to Chief Deputy. Mike has also served as a deputy and investigator. Sheriff Ammend and his wife June have been married since 1967 and have 4 children and three grandchildren. He has been a resident of Cambridge Township since 1987.
Chief Deputy Russ Monson
Russ grew up in Hoyt Lakes on the Iron Range, and then moved to Southwest Minnesota where he began his law enforcement career. He spent 10 years there and then in 1995 moved to Isanti County where he started as a Deputy. In 1996 Russ was promoted to Sergeant. Sheriff Ammend appointed Russ to the Chief Deputy position in 2003. Russ and his wife Sue have been married since 1981 and have two children, Joshua and Jamie. Russ and Sue have been residents of Braham since 1995.
Sheriff's Office
The Isanti County Sheriff’s Office was built in 1984. The jail addition, which was completed in 2005, added 74 more beds, and now houses up to 112 prisoners.
